Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Mike Mohr, I live in Prescott, Ariz. I've been a devoted LUV fan for 25 yrs. now. My first intro to these little trucks was in the mid 70's, one of my neighbors had- I assume- a very early model. He kept his little beast pristine, and as a boy I just liked the look of the truck. But that was then, now I've a couple of these little "gems"! My first is a 1978, long bed, 2wd, stock (mostly), with a work box (I've seen pic's of these in old pamphlets, but never another in person). I love my LUV! She is awesome! I'm work'n at keeping her going... hopefully all of you in time will be able to help with that. Look for her pic's as they update the site. So far I've seen no other pic's of one with a work box. Would be interested to see another!
My second is a 1979, 4x4, short bed, chassis and cab fairly complete, no box. Not running at present. She is just sitting there waiting for me to decide what I'd like to do with her- always good for that occasional "fantasy" when I'm looking out the window at all my "stuff".
I look forward to sharing with all of you fellow LUV fanatic's as I endeavor to keep another couple of these amazing trucks runnin' down the road!!!
Just didn't know there were so many of us... nice to see!

Welcome to the site. A neighbor had a truck with the utility bed on it. He had a stroke and the county came and cleaned up the place and scrapped the truck... Post up a pic of yours when you get a chance...

Howdy,
At least I know they are more than a one off... Mine has never had anything but a work box on it... Hopefully the administrators will get my photos on soon... yesterday I posted them with my registration.

I haven't seen any photos on here. Did you email them? If you want to post them in the forum, here is the link for how to do it in photobucket. -----> viewtopic.php?f=40&t=7593

That being said... welcome! I was 3 years old when my dad bought my truck. He bought it from the original owner. I remember looking at it for the first time. He had a full size chevy parked next to it, and I asked dad to buy the little blue one.

Yes, Welcome!!! There was a Utility box LUV somewhere in AZ on Ebay a few years ago. It was brown and tan. Does that happen to be the one you have?

That is a very nice truck! Good to see that it has survived all of these years.

Need the dash recovered, new carpet, bench seat is in good repair but needs upholstery.
Head liner is nearly perfect, as are the door panels... whole truck needs window seals, door seals... fortunately I live in Ariz.!

I kinda wish I was seeing more of the work models here... but I'm tickled to see so many of them being loved & cherished. They really are an amazing ride.

Thanks guys, didnt think she'd get such feedback... was just reading some of the notes on turbo's in the other sections... I'm considering putting a 1.8 liter subaru turbo in her to help with power, alot of pros & cons on the subject!
Also I appreciate the warm welcome!
Mike

I like the work bed. Nice place to put my lunch box to and from work. :) That would keep it from sliding around in the bed. (I use a bungee cord now).

Cool truck, with a bed like that you could haul all of your tools around with you too. I haven't see a Luv outfitted with that bed before that I can remember. Rare for sure anyway. Welcome and goog luck!
