New to this whole thing but I found this site and hope to gain some knowledge about the trucks and information. Never built or driven a Luv truck but I recently bought one off a friend. 1976 with 18,000(yes only 18 thousand) original miles on it. Original everything. Not a lot of rust but the drawback is its been wrecked and sitting up for the better part of 12 years. Anybody got any idea where you find body parts for a 76? Or what models will interchange with the body parts I need? Google search is turning up nothing. Truck was hit on the passenger side front so I need new fender, grille, etc. Checking the junkyards and back yards for somebody with to many yard orniments but keep coming up empty. With the price of junk now people are scraping them and the junkyards crush em. Also EVENTUALLY gonna have to rework the whole truck. Did I bite off more than I can chew or is this a doable project? Kinda working on limited funds so its a very very slow project...but I enjoy a challenge haha. Any info is appreciated.-Aaron

Welcome to the site. Sounds like a good find, check salvage yards, craigslist and he normal places and you can still find "most" parts.

Another guy from MS, cool.

The Pull a Part in Jackson shows a 1977 online if you do a search on their site. Don't know what kind of shape it's in, but it might have some things on it you need.

Im prolly gonna show just how dumb I am when it comes to these trucks so yall hang with me....but does anybody have a list or know where I can find a book about what will interchange on these trucks? If its lsited somewhere on this site thats my bad for asking a repetitive question. Im digging through all this information every chance I get on here but its a ton of topics. And thanks for the tip about Pull a Part. I gotta head that way to look for some stuff for an S10 so I will sure give it a look.

I walked the entire chevy section this past Wednesday looking for a driveshaft for my suburban and didn't see it...

Mytmouz: I wondered if you had been by there lately since you're so close. If you had I was going to see what kind of shape it was in. Wonder if they had it stuck somewhere else, with Isuzus maybe? Or maybe the site is just wrong, who knows.

Deigratia: For parts interchanges, take a look at LUV year by year changes topic in "Stock Trucks", that will have major differences such as 2 vs 4 headlights, wing windows on the doors, etc. You can also buy print or CD versions of parts manuals online. I got one through Ebay a few years ago. Try going to Ebay and searching for "Chevy Luv Parts Manual" and see what pops up. There are usually several on there, mine is 1972-82, or series 1-12.
