Hey fellow LUV owners, I finally registered here to correspond with other truck owners. I've been reading a lot about what others are doing and I have learned some cool things. My truck is a 1980 4X4 with 26K original miles and I am the original owner. It is a survivor here in the rust belt of Pennsylvania. I drove it everyday for the first 2 years until the paint faded and my added flares and L88 hood just didn't match. I then took it to Jim Kunze ( a well known airbrush artist) to have it painted in April of 1983. After getting it back, there was no way I would drive it everyday again and risk screwing up my new paint. I continued customizing it and showing it collecting close to 100 awards including the World of Wheels show. I kind of burned out on it for quite a while and thought about making a huge monster truck out of it, but decided not to, so as to stay street legal. It's a lot of fun to drive to cruises and shows. I currently have it tore down to update it with some new goodies. I am running a stock motor, but I am adding an Offy intake (purchased from Mokadeth), a Weber carb, pacesetter header with custom exhaust and more detail. I hope to post some pictures in the future as I think it is one cool custom LUV 4X4. Most of my mods were done back in the 80's, but it's time to update!!! Keep on LUV Truckin

Hey Guys, Thanks for the welcome. I'll try to post some pics here soon, though not current. Generally, it looks somewhat the same. Same great paint, but I am changing wheels and tires also. I've got a lot of ideas going with it right now and will continue my quest in building one of the best LUV trucks out there. Thanks for your interest!!!!

Welcome to the site finally. It is great to have some more fellow Pennsylvania LUV owners here. I hope the Offy install goes well for you and I look forward to seeing pics of your truck.

I am an original owner, but my 77 is pretty ratty, terrible rust. Tons of patching. It has been a daily driver most of its life. Now that I am retired, there are days I stay home and it sets. I am not going anywhere today until tonight when my wife and I will take the car.

Mods? A wooden bumper and AM/FM/Cassette deck. The dead air pump is gone.

:D Hey Guys, here are a few pics of my 80 LUV 4x4 called "BAD KNIGHT" which of course carries a medieval theme. Sorry for the pics not being the greatest, but my garage is very confined and I won't take it out until better weather. I've got a lot to do and will do more as time & $$$$ permits. I've promised you guys these so here they are. Questions and comments are welcome. Thanks, Shawn :D

I believe you need at least 5 posts before you can post up pictures.
Or you can attach them to your post using the attachment button.

Hey Guys, brief update on the truck! Just got the front bumper back from the chrome shop and also just finished tearing off the original carb and intake. I'm getting the Offy intake ready for a new Weber and I'm going to take the head off for some work. Got the header sitting here as well. Got lots to do and now it's time for yard work! :( Progress will be a little slower but will continue. I'll keep you posted!!!
