Hello, new to luv ownership. Bought this 79 luv stepside several weeks back. I know nothing about these trucks so I'll be asking questions and help from fellow members.

I'm looking for the following parts and will post in classifieds later but wanted to say hello first.

all metal cab visor chromed and preferably louvered
5-speed to fit 79
clean uncut engine bay wiring harness
clean uncut cab wiring harness
heater control switch

how hard is it to remove the radios in these trucks...do I need to remove the whole dash?

Thanks and hello from Dave in Vancouver WA

i have the visor but i need to get it out of storage... and you will have to pull the dash to get the stereo out....
as for the the heater control? did it break or is it that it does not turn off? if it is because it doesn't turn off that's the way they where made.... it has a sweet spot between low and med. if you set it there the blower will turn off. that's the way i usually had it...

Ctmandu,
If you have a metal visor I'm interested...let me know when you get at it. I'd like to replace the windshield and at that time It'd be nice to swap visors. I was thinking about adding some chromed headlight visors if I could find a cab visor to match. I think they'd look nice with the chromed door visors.

As for the heater control...I'm wondering if it might have a short....the alt light comes on when in use....I can't afford to come across a dead battery if I'm on my way to work.

Was think of getting one of those retro sound radios. http://www.retrosoundusa.com Anyone using one?

If I had to pull the dash for radio replacement, I wanted a clean wire harness on hand to replace the old on if needed.

I'd also like to get a dash cover to help protect the dash from the sun. Can anyone recommend one that covers the dash without sliding around as I don't want to attach anything to the dash.

Any luv events ever happen?
