Hello all,
I'm in the very early stages of doing a resto-mod on a '76 series 5 Chevy LUV. It's a truck my Father drove for years and I closely associate the vehicle with him. I think that's why I find these trucks so fascinating. Every time I see one on the road I can't help but smile
The truck is in pretty bad shape. The goal is to keep the look and feel as close to original as possible, for nostalgia's sake. That being said though the other part of the goal is to make it a daily highway driver again. Either for him or me. Where I want to start though is to find as much info about how it would have looked coming "off the lot" as possible. I've already determined the original color
(Crimson Red) I've ordered a shop manual, and have a Haynes too. I like to have lots of resources at my disposal. Does anyone know a database I can search that would have this type of info based upon the VIN? To put it another way I'd like to be able to piece together a "snap shot" of how she looked originally. Thanks in advance and I look forward to a community that enjoys these trucks as much as me.
