Hello all,

I'm in the very early stages of doing a resto-mod on a '76 series 5 Chevy LUV. It's a truck my Father drove for years and I closely associate the vehicle with him. I think that's why I find these trucks so fascinating. Every time I see one on the road I can't help but smile :D The truck is in pretty bad shape. The goal is to keep the look and feel as close to original as possible, for nostalgia's sake. That being said though the other part of the goal is to make it a daily highway driver again. Either for him or me. Where I want to start though is to find as much info about how it would have looked coming "off the lot" as possible. I've already determined the original color (Crimson Red) I've ordered a shop manual, and have a Haynes too. I like to have lots of resources at my disposal. Does anyone know a database I can search that would have this type of info based upon the VIN? To put it another way I'd like to be able to piece together a "snap shot" of how she looked originally. Thanks in advance and I look forward to a community that enjoys these trucks as much as me.
-James

Your best bet is the search ebay for original sale brochures. You will see a lot of them. There is also a TON of information right here. Wear the search feature out looking for the info you need here on LUV truck. Also check the home page. http://www.luvtruck.com/ check out the links, etc. You will be impressed with the knowledge that comes from here. Good luck to you and your Dad.

If you are looking for a build sheet, you wont find it unless the org owner kept it. Paint codes are on the truck but you wont be able to break down the VIN like other cars.

Thanks iluvit1979. Sorry I've been offline for a while. I'm in Georgia.
