Hi, my name is Kurt, some call me Durt. I have an '81 2wd LUV I've used for several years to do tuff truck races and desert trails around Boise, Idaho. It was running a stock engine with the body and engine moved back 3 inches on the frame and reversed the rear spring to fit 31" tires with no lift, just fender trimming. It was fun but... So its a prerunner project now. I have an Olds Quad4 mounted with a Camero 5speed. The is a 12bolt from a Trooper with disc brakes with Ford Ranger springs. Front suspension and steering is from an '93 Pup. The interior is gutted with a full 12 point cage and bed sides skinned. I have a pair of 14" Bilstein 7100's for the rear, front will use coilovers or torsion bars from a Rodeo. Now just get it done, right!

I was thinking of doing a prerunner with my 76! I have never built one before but I just cant get enough of off road racing. I am visiting my family in Mountain Home right now and I noticed you live in Boise. Sounds like a great project, gotta see some pics.

I am a member of Wild West Off Roaders in Mt. Home a we put on the Idaho Tuff Truck Challenge, but the LUV is 2wd and does not qualify for the 4wd event. I have competed in four different stock rigs, a Samurai, S-Jimmy, Rodeo and S-Blazer.http://www.planet4x4.net/forums/showthread.php?t=14053&page=2 Some pictures from 2009. We also man the mud races there. With the LUV I usually just play in the desert between Boise and Mt. Home unless there is a monster truck show in town.

Dates are not set yet. Mud drags usually start in May with 4-5 races thru August. ITTC has been end of Sept, after the motocross racing is done so we can use their track.

We have a WWOR club run every month. Indoor short track motorcycles in Caldwell. Monster Jam in March. My daughter plays ice hockey so that keeps me busy through the winter.

I got the LUV off the jackstands and pushed it out of the garage. It hasn't seen sunlight in a long time.
