Hey all.. New to the boards and to LUV's. I am a huge Chev truck fan and currently have 4 others including a 72 chev blazer off road only monster, a 72 chevy blazer 3/4 ton for towing the Off road blazer. A 70 chev 3/4 ton custom camper 85K origonal, and a 98 1/2 ton chev stepside.
I have always been a fan of the chevy luv body style. These are great looking little trucks. Bought my first one last week for $300.00. The truck was advertised as running but would not start when I got there. I grabed the car trailer and towed it home getting all excited to start working on this thing.
Had to wait until today to get it off the trailer and into the garage. I started looking for luv forums the day I got the truck and found this one.. Probably spent about 20 hrs reading through stuff on here before today.. Lots of Awesome work done here and it appears some really good info (Oh and Parts Links.. Ill be hitting those).
So I got the truck off the trailer via the tilt and a high lift. I planed on swaping the dead battery and using the starter (Safty switch bypassed) to walk the truck into the garage. I swaped the battery and hit the key and BAM.. fired right away.."F'N SWEET"! didnt smoke didnt make any noises. Ran crappy for a couple min but has been sitting for at least a year so prolly a little bad gas. Once it warmed up it seemed to run just fine. Reallllly wanted to take it fer a little drive but it needs a Master Cylinder.
Got it into the garage after snaping a couple pics and cleaned up the inside a little. Found the records including the origonal sales record.. Looks like a 1 owner truck... "F'N SWEET"! Once I got all the garbage out of the inside I cut the plastic floor liner out with my fingers crossed hoping I would get lucky. The trouble spots dont appear to be too bad. A little surface rust but it all felt fairly solid with a screw driver. Found one little hole under the gas peddle probably 5in around but easily fixable. The body of the truck has a few little spots of rust but nothing that cant be fixed fairly easily and its all surface rust. Most has been painted over at some point with a rattle can.
I cant wait to tear into this thing. My plan origonally when I thought it didnt run was to lower the truck add a spoiler and SBC/TH400 as I just happen to have a decent 2 bolt in the garage. Add a decent set of buckets and mebby some custom fab work here and there... Not that I know the truck runs and drives Im not sure.
Either way... this is gonna be fun.
So here I am an here it is. Well Mebby not.. dont appear to be able to upload files. Hmmmmm?

Sounds like a great find... welcome to the site!

Many here use Photobucket for uploading images - and it is free. I use Auctiva, which I use for selling on eBay.

Don't forget to put where you are located by updating your Profile in the User Control Panel (upper right).

We LOVE pictures!

You have yourself a great little truck!

Nice find!

And welcome to the site.

Note: From what I can remember from reading threads on here... the TH350 trans will work without altering the tunnel, while the TH400 will need
some fab work. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong...
