I just inherited a 73 Luv that has been tubbed, has a Ford 9" rear end, a small block 350 under the hood and a 400 tranny. I need to get the truck from California to Missouri, and I need to know how long the Luv is. The only body mods are the tubs and a fiberglass hood with a scoop. I can't get to the truck to measure it, and the storage facility apparently can't read a tape, and I need to know the length so I can rent a truck to get it home! Anyone know the stock length by any chance?? HELP!! lol

Thanks in advance,

Scott Parish

You can rent a car dolly from Uhaul for about $40/day (maybe better for a week) but you would only need it one way. That is, if you have something with a hitch to pull it with and if the LUV has good rear tires. At least that way you don't need to know length.

I was told that the dollys are not for one way use, it would have to be returned to where it was rented. Also, that would put the trucks expensive paint job in the elements of flying rocks etc, not to mention left all alone in the hotel parking lot where some jerk kids would no doubtedly vandalize it. Thanks for the idea though.

I'm in CA. I'll inherit it for you and just keep it. That way you won't even have to leave your house.
Just give me an address and I promise to take good care of it. I'll even send you pics of me at the track, or cruising the beach with it.
JK.

I have a 16 foot open trailer that is 7 feet wide I haul mine on. The width can't be much less that that but the length can be shorter. I would say 12 ft.

If the truck is in the L.A. area, let me know when you're here. I'll come meet you if you want.

I use to haul my Luv on an 18' open trailer. 16' bed with 2' beaver tail. Had plenty of room.
