Hey,
My name is Ricky T, I am brand New and this is my first post. I have no idea what im doing so bear with me. Im looking to talk to people who have, or know how to drop a 4.3 Chev v6 from a 92 jimmy into my 80 4x4. What do I need for front suspension/transfercase/motormounts, and whatnot. I have the engine now, I am trying to put togather a parts list, and line up some advisors.
Thanx

If you had the whole Jimmy it would be alot easier...
But your still going to have to fab up some motor mounts, trans mount and then there is the wiring. But I know that painless can make you a stand alone set up for your computer.

Welcome to the site....where you from?

actually its not an old question.... not very many run FI.... if any

My '79 4x4 is getting completely restored and having a 4.3 put in, but will have a carb. I have some pics, but don't have them uploaded yet, but what he is doing is cutting the front end frame section off the S-10 Blazer donor vehicle and welding it on the front of the LUV frame after he cut off the LUV front frame section. Then all the motor mounts and suspension is all there. I am not sure if he has all the little details worked out yet as he just started on the frame last month and hasn't been working on it much. Also he informed me that the very front of the frame sticks out too far past the grille, so that will be cut down and welded up to accomodate the front bumper brackets from the LUV. The truck will sit a little higher when the body is mounted, but I did want it to have a little more height than the stock LUV 4x4 did. I will have to try and get my pics uploaded so you can see what he did.
