hello everyone, i stumbled across this site when looking for parts for my 79 mikado 4x4. i have had the truck for 7 years now and 100k miles. i use it primarily for work but it has been across colorado multiple times through the mountains with very few problems. about a year ago it started to get anti-freeze in the oil, about a gallon in a hour or two. so i parked it in the back yard. i finally had time and a little extra cash so i pulled the motor and tore it down to find that the timing chain tensioner had came apart and the chain wore a hole through the front cover opposite the water pump. after a trip to a friends metal shop and a twelve pack for a little tig work i should be back in buisness when i finish with the rebuild. i just couldn't give up on the most reliable truck ive ever had.
