Look what I pulled out of the woods.

I got a nice deal with this one I must say, I pull the Oldsmobile v6 out of it and it is mine. Came with a bed full of junk and trash lol. I also found some new chrome headlight covers for it. As soon as the engine is out my 1st objective will be to kill the big bird yellow. Then I will be putting a 4.3 and 4L60E down in it. Then S10 swaps both front and rear.

Any paint suggestion's? I was thinking about painting it white since I have about a half of gallon left over from painting a 2002 Silverado however I may mix it up a bit white by it self may be just too boring.

Nice find! A/C (at least it used to and still could), bucket seats.
What are those wheels off of? I've never seen any like that before.
Looks like it was painted last in the 90's, when that euro, paint the whole vehicle all one color (grille, bumpers, door handles, wipers, and all trim) thing was going on. Kind of the beginning of the ricer thing today.
Enjoy the fun project.

The nice thing is, it's a complete truck to start with. It has all the door panels, window cranks, glass etc.. Dash looks pretty good too. Compared to some I've seen anyway.

What are those rims off of? They look sort of Isuzu-ish but I can't put my finger on where I've seen them before...

It's not stock. Someone just stuck it on there.

It is a 78. The wheels are off a trooper and has a matching spare (Will either sell or scrap). The rear end is out of a trooper and looks a little narrower then I believe what my other trucks look. The emblem on the tailgate are off a Chevy aerostar van (Do you want it? lol). The seats are out of some sort of kia and are electric and work. The guy said the AC worked good. I don't understand the deal with the rug on the dash other then slightly rolling at the windshield it is nearly perfect. The trucks factory color was yellow and they just scuffed the factory paint and laid down some more big bird yellow. The guy painted the headlight covers yellow because the chrome was flaking off the plastic and painted the grill to match. The grill will be stripped and brought back to its black self and the rest of the truck is going white. I am thinking about two toning the truck just don't know what with. It will be anything but yellow.

The guy wanted $600 to start with. I talked him down to $450 for the truck w/o the engine or trans w/ him removing it. BUT then I talked him down to me hauling it and pulling the engine out, Then he will pick the engine up and I will get the truck for that labor.

I am planning on giving it a bath and pulling the engine out tomorrow if I have the time and I don't fry in the sun.

Yeah thats what I thought. Engine is almost out right now, I'm gonna let it cool down a bit and go ahead and yank it out. The thing has fuel length exhaust with a flowmaster I'll be able to run.

Sorry no I plan on running the fender emblems. I only plan to get rid of the Chevy emblem on the tailgate.

Well the old engine is out of the truck, The vortec 4.3 engine is out of the blazer, removed the kia seats, removed the stock shifter console, installed prelude seats, installed a camaro/firebird console, Installed a B&M ratchet shifter for a overdrive w/ hammer t handle, Installed a Mikado steering wheel, Installed s10 rear end, and started some minor body work.

I did some wiring both repairing and just simply cleaning up last night.

I will be removing the bed so Redluv80 if you want to help come on over
I am debating on what to do with the fuel delivery system due to the vortecs high pressure set up. I am thinking about one of three things using the high pressure pump and fabbin it up in the stock tank, mounting a s10 truck tank in the stock luv location, or mounting the 16 gallon blazer tank in the rear of the truck and placing a filler neck on the inside of the bed approximately behind the driver side tailight. Any other ideas?

The vortec setup requires 65 to 75 psi at the injector rail. So that means using a pump rated at about 100 psi. So either I will have to make the blazer pump work or find something else that may work. Anyone know of a semi-cheap pump out there that can put this much out?

I'll post some pic with the next progress update.
