hi everyone, ryan here, just joined and like the fact that i FINALLY found a site with some classifieds for LUV'S!! seems like a really cool site. i own a 74 luv that im currently building for the track, we have a few tracks around here in wisconsin that i attend with my other car (1967 chevy impala) and cant wait to finally get my truck out. i bought it about 15 yrs. ago and sadly it sat as soon as i brought it home from purchase till now, i installed a narrowed 9", full cage and tube chassis with a healthy small block. im really trying to get it done for some races comming up in about 2-3 weeks depending on weather......see, up in wisconsin, durring the winter time when the tracks are closed for the season, we then start ice drag season which is only 1/8 mile drag with lights and time slips and all, all on a river! ill try to post some pics of some stuff soon if anyone wants to see.

Welcome to the site. This is the best site on the internet. Pics of your Luv would be nice. I have a '74 Luv with a BBC that I race at in Iowa. You can see some pics of it on my website. The address is below. Again welcome aboard.

here are 2 pics, one of my tires that have 5000 drywall screws per tire and one of my 67 impala that i race, i really wish we could get hot rod magazine or someone to come out and do a story. 90% of the cars out there are showroom condition, and not sure if i mentioned before but these are 1/8th mile drags and so far there was a new record set last year by a guy that ran 140mph with a et of 5.780 in 660 feet!! trust me, you hook way better on ice than you do with 100 gallons of VHT on asphalt.there are on a average of about 100 cars that come to race.

%.80's on ice! 8O Apparantly my set ain't big enough! How often do you have to have to make new lanes due to the studs tearing up the ice? In case of oildowns, does the Zamboni dispense oil dry? Just curious. That Imp looks great by the way.

the lower profile tire and the more screws you use makes for less flex in the tire, i havent had a flat in 3 yrs.

yeah the shop is pretty nice, 80x80, my shop at home is kept clean, my truck is at my buddies shop where i work, we fabricate some of central wisconsin's fastest street cars, chassis builds, cages, suspension, you name it. last year we experimented with a diesel f-350 super duty, made it into a short box, did some "slight" mods, took it to Houston for the diesel nationals and now currently hold the world quickest 60' time for a diesel street truck. check us out at http://www.furoracing.com. its not everyday you see a 7000 pound street truck with stock suspension doing this......
