The names Shawn,I'm 17 and love the Luv. For years my dream car has always been a 72 v8 Vega GT, for the past two years my dad and I have been building well you guessed it!-a 72' v8 Vega not a GT but thats no biggy.The car is my dad's, my dad holds me responsible for the build of this sweet little H-body. He is always telling every one that I built the car and of course he helped but I guess I do have a good amount of hours in the project. Any ways long story short I still want a Vega but I badly badly want a 73 v8 Luv soon I will have one hopefully. At the moment I have a 1974 dart witch I need to paint up and get sold after that I will have close to 7-10k to play with so that should bring me a pretty nice project!!!
The Vega is a base model 72' I pulled its stock and seized 1.4l out and begun the process in the summer of 05 over the passed 2 years it has gained a th700r4 race tranny and a 350-.060 over-361ci engine not the most bad ass engine but still pretty nice it puts out about 400 horse. This engine is not a top of the line $15k engine but it definetly will enjoy eating a Honda or two haha
This block houses a Compcams 280 and a forged crank along with forged arms and hyperutechtic pistons as I said its not the best but it deffinetly gets the job done it also has a edelbrock rpm airgap intake,holley 670 street avenger carb,custom Milodon oil pan,Milodon oil pump,Sanderson shorty headers and a 2.5" Edelbrock SDT exhaust system.
The rear is a Chevy 8.5" 10 bolt 342 posi built by Diffworks in Riverside CA.Upcoming next month is the final assembly of our s10 front end conversion we have every part down to even the washers,we tried to go with 100% Moog parts but due to the project and applications they do not manufacture these parts any longer! now we just need to get on it and finish the job!!!!
