I am putting an 82 2.2l diesel in a ford ranger. I was wondering if i need a fuel pump before the injector pump on the engine.

No, you won't. The first truck I robbed the C223 out of was running a few years without any transfer pump before I got it.

I currently have 2 tanks hooked to my truck now, and though the higher tank will gravity feed, I don't run a pump for it. The stock tank still has the in-tank fuel pump from the 4.3 TBI that was in it when I bought it.
