ok, I am considering dumpin a diesel in my secound luv 4x4. It says it was manufactured in late 79', so i am guessing its an 80' model. its a 4x4. I am wondering what motor would be more or less a bolt in project? I am thinking the 2.2 would be nice, but would i have to get a new tranny also?

HomeNuget see my reply to Stan M a few post down on the swap from a gas burner to a diesel. If you have the tools and some ability the swap is not all that hard and makes for a good combination for a hunting truck or a knock about around town truck but it will be lacking on highway speed. If you have any questions that I can help you with I will be glad to lend you what I learned from my swap. I check luv truck.com about twice a week so it might be awhile before you get your answer.
