 Post subject: cummins turbo diesel....

Is it possible? Has anyone ever done it?? Possible rear mount with a v-drive or transaxle??? Just an idea.. I thought it would be cool, cuz there are guy like me who put a v8 (gas) into LUVS, but I have never heard of an oversized diesel being put in one of em.....

what i've been wanting to see is a cummins 4bt engine swap. it's a 4 banger(albeit big 4 banger) version of the 6 cylinder cummins. might be able to shoehorn one into a luv and put something like an NV4500 tranny behind it

i hear they're common in bread delivery panel vans

Theres a local guy around here thats swapping a 5.9L Cummins into an El Camino. Its a big project from the sounds of it. Doesn't mean it couldn't be done on a LUV. I just don't think the LUV would have much of a stock looking front end...or interoir for that matter...

Not only would the size of the engine make it difficult, the weight of the cummins would make it almost impossible.
