Has anyone ever tryed putting a small diesel turbocharger on a luv diesel? or is it even possiaable?

I personally have not but would like to do that to my diesel.

The Isuzu pup trucks had turbos on them in 1986 and 1987. It was also an option in the later trooper IIs

What kind of turbo you think would work on that? what would you have to do? you think the compression is to high and might gernade the engine

diesels tend to like boost. since the fuel injectors control the timing instead of spark plugs like a gas engine, there's no such thing as preignition.

however, some diesels aren't as well built as others, but i think the isuzu engines should be able to handle some boost

I found one or two that i can get but have to do some more research to see if they would work or not

The C223 diesel motor used in luvs and early Isuzus is basically the same as the C223T used in Isuzus after 85. I doubt there are really too many differences and I've heard of at least one being coverted to use the later year turbo gear. Check out the BBS/forums at http://www.4x4wire.com and look in the Isuzu section. They have a category devoted to Isuzu diesel subjects and I bet there are some gems of info in there.

You have to be sure to change the setting at the bottom of the Isuzu Diesel forum page to something more than "show all topics from last 2 days" in order to see it all. The diesel forum doesn't get a huge amount of traffic on a daily basis, but it is steady and there is a lot if you go back over the older posts.
