I'm looking for a reliable long distance commuter vehicle that will get good/great mileage and a friend recommended I look into a diesel Luv or similar diesel compact pickup. Can any of you tell me what mileage I could expect from one of these vehicles? How do they cruise at highway speeds?

the 81 and 82 luvs gets close to 40 miles per gallon 8O
