I finally got the heater core issue fixed in my Luv, got the issues in the dash fixed, cleaned it up and have been driving it quite often. Everything has went alright until today. I started it and drove it about 200 feet and it died. I could start it back up but it wouldn't gain any rpm's and would just die. As soon as it starts it will die. I pulled it up to the garage and took the fuel supply line off and no fuel was comming out. At first I thought I had a plugged fuel filter, but then I realized that fuel wasn't getting to the filter. I need some advice on what to do next. I bought a service manual on CD but the dang thing won't open. I opened it once and it won't open again. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Has this happened before? It sounds familiar.

You pulled the fuel line off and you expect fuel to flow out? When you remove the line from the filter, the fuel will simply run back to the tank (and pull air into the lines right behind it). It did exactly as expected, if you ask me.

There are several possibilities, but the most common one would be an air leak somewhere in your fuel lines, or as you suspected, a plugged filter.

I got the truck running this morning. I was assuming there was a lifter pump in the fuel tank that pumped fuel to the filter, but guess I was wrong. I removed the old filter and it was definately old and dirty. I got it primed and fuel to it and it finally fired up.

Here is a picture of my Luv. It's not one of a kid, there is another, so I guess it is one of two of a kind.

Why does it sounds like you just removed the filter? I hope you REPLACED the filter?

Yes I replaced the filter, I am not very smart but I service our equipment regularly and know that you have to replace filters when you remove them, and replace fulids when they are drained.

Cool. Sorry, no offense meant. Lately we've been getting some kids on here that don't know any better.

Dig the rear tires. :)
