You might run into problems with that, mostly because the carburetor will need to be a "blow through" model if you are going to be pushing air through it. Blow through carbs are a little spendy, and you will have to know how many CFM your current carb is rated for. I have seen many people turbocharge old VW beetles and hot rods without converting them to fuel injection.
