Hey pee_roy,
I hate to rain on your parade and tell me if I'm wrong, but wanted you to know that the non turbo Isuzu diesels don't like boost/or very little boost (3psi). The factory installed turbo versions have stronger rods, pistons, and a injection pump that compensates fuel with boost pressure. They only came with 5lbs of boost from the factory. There is no way to adjust a non turbo injection pump for more fuel delivery. I have already asked about that.
I own a 84 Isuzu Pup diesel and I'm a member of the www.Isuzupup.com website. There are a lot of threads listed about the non turbo/turbo differences between the engines. The turbo parts are very difficult to find today. I would hate to see you go through all that nice work and the 1 time you apply the boost it sends the rods outside the cylinder block. :x Maybe I'm wrong and you've done your homework, but if you haven't I would look into this before you ruin your engine. Just my 2 cents. Hope this helps you out.
Mike.

i thought stock boost was closer to 10 psi
most rod faluers were in the 4,000lb trooper with the 4.55 gears
yes some turbo pups had rods give up, but much less than the troopers.
just dont be a NuTtY person and keep it under 3,000rpms
max crusing rpm 2,600 high gear.

Keep us posted about your results. It will be very interesting to see how your turbo setup works and if the engine will except it's new organs. What will you do about more fuel delivery under boost conditions? Just curious.
Mike.

the non turbo pump can be used, you just turn the fuel up.
but theres no boost companshashon, so it will smoke more off low idel

the turbo injectors are set around 2,000 psi
non turbo injectors are around 1,600psi

N\A engines are 15 BTDC
turbo engines are 10 BTDC

Looks good. I'm guessing you're not anxious to try it, or anything......

Paul from Cali turbo'd his a few years ago, and by now must have 60,000 miles or more. He pulls a load with it, but is careful not to run the revs up too much, and is quite happy with it.

Rod failure was from OVER-REVVING, not from too much torque. Jerry the Isuzu Guru has stated that a few times over the years, so I'm sure it will work fine.

yeah i gotta get new tags for the plates. gonna turn up the fuel a wee bit but its nice and efficiant not even a poof of smoke when going. I need to get a boost gauge to see what its doing. it really seems to breathe better.

i wonder if i could do that to my gas powered 75  looks simple and the same i just need the intake to go onto the top of the carb and make something like a cold air intake with a filter on the other side of the turbo :eugeek
