Got the Luv back together today. New water pump, timing belt, fan clutch, clean radiator. Cranked right up. Now, another problem has arisen. The VOLT and FILTER lights stay on. Where do I start troubleshooting these problems? Thanks for the input. Dennis

Dennis, can you check your charge voltage with the engine running? If it's far enough below normal, those lights won't go off. It may be as simple as alternator brushes or a loose ground. You should be seeing about 13.8v.

The voltage across the battery posts is 12.75 sitting. Engine running, the voltage is 13.87 so my fieldpiece tells me.
Seems like the alternator is doing it's job. Removed the ground cable and cleaned it. Installed a ground from battery to chassis. No changes.
Do these lights not go out by the lack of voltage differential?
Clearly a printed circuit behind the cluster.
Do you know of a PDF wiring schematic for these trucks?
Thanks again, Dennis

An update. There is a relay known as a charge indicator relay. Replaced it, and the lights now go off the way they are supposed to. Hard to work on anything any newer than a 1964.
