as far as putting a diesel with the tranny into a luv?? Change the yoke on the drive line and raidator.. Easy enough.. Just get all the wires for the glowplug system and its a direct bolt in.

well besides the cost of the donor truck? Not very much. I used a lot of the same things.. But it did change the oil on the engine and tranny. New Anti freeze. A couple new hoses. I put a new clutch in while it was out too. I would guess $150 total extra after the donor truck.

well FarmerJoe drove my truck when he had his luv. mine with stock N/A diesel and his with the G180 (with header/exhaust, and weber carb.) and he claimed that it seems to be the same. I think its close too maybe better because of the torque.

Hey Pee_roy, what year is your luv? I have a '75 that I'm going to put the 2.2l diesel in but I'm pretty sure the motor mounts are different. I'm guessing it's because of the engine change in '76.

Its a 77. I dont know about the earlier models.. Oh and that reminded me, you need the original tranny mount. the spacing were the bolts go through on the crossmember is wider on the diesel truck. Easy just a matter of changing them.

My 81, from the limited 5 minutes I've driven it, was a lot easier to move than my 80 gas 4x4. I think it has to be the extra torque the engine makes.
