Ive been looking more into the C240 and I was wondering if it uses the same basic motor mounts and bellhousing as the C223 if so I could use it for my S10 if it ever decides to blow up

I don't know about the C240 fitting dimensionally, but its redline is only 3000 RPM. You'd have to overdrive and/or regear the S10.

I agree with Scott, the C240 diesel engine is mainly an industrial/marine application engine that doesn't have a high reving RPM like the smaller C223. You have to look at the C223 being a more special engine given it's just about specifically designed for automotive application vehicles. If everything goes right with your S10, this engine should give you trouble free miles for a long time to come. A lot more than the factory gas powerplant that's for sure.
