It would take some wiring work, probably would help to get as much of that from the donor as possible. Glow plug relays and all that sort of junk. I'm not sure if the drive line(s) are exactly the same or not, you might have to swap yokes or get the 79's rear DL shortened/lengthened. I bet there is some exhaust stuff that is different too, might need to change the manifold flange end of the pipe, assuming it comes up in the right place.

I take it you are talking about the C223 motor.

The starter is on the other side of the truck on a diesel.

So yeah wiring coz youve got the glow plugs etc to do.

The tail shaft will be the same length if you use all the propper diesel mounts. The gearbox mount should be the same.

There are three different output shaft splines that ive come across in Isuzu manual transmissions. Small coarse, Small fine and larger fine (the same as the TH180/TH350)

Cheers. Bob.

Yea it is the C223 from an Isuzu and 5 speed. Not sure of the splines. Someone has offered to sale me the motor and trans. I am a sheet metal fabricator by trade so the fab work like motor mounts and exaust pipe would not be a problem  I was worried about the wiring, fuel pump, radiator and other things of that nature. also what do yall think is a good price for the motor and trans,(he wants $300) he said that he is not sure if it runs or not so its safe to say it dont. Thanks
Kevin

Personally i think thats a bit too much to pay for a motor that doesnt go. Its scrap metal.

See if you can get the mounts etc with it.

Im not sure on the radiator.

The box is a good thing, it will bolt up behind an old twin cam motor. Did you get the G200W DOHC in the early RWD Impulse?????
The box itslef is worth the money if its in good condition.

Ive never had a diesel, been a long time since i was last under the hood of one. A guy at work has two luv diesels (C190) on 2x4 and one 4x4 hes trying to sell me, i want them but room is the big issue. Ive had a pup with a diesel to petrol conversion.

Best if you can get all the bits i say, then it just bolts in.

Bob.
