I just bought a diesel S-10 from our local junk yard before they crushed it, but when I got into the motor it seams that the number 1 piston decided it wanted to break in half and go threw the cylinder wall if any one have a block for sale I would greatly apreciate it as long as it doesnt have any holes in it im intrested

I've never seen or heard of a diesel S10. Is it factory or a transplant from something else?

Definantly interested,

We have talked on another forum and I still have a block if you can find O/S pistons.
I would be willing to do some trading but the shipping would be something on a engine block. Anyway, don't get rid of those engine parts. PM me if needed.

thanks, Mark

They can't resleeve it? Or is it just not cost effective?

They said that the hole is to close to the top and bottom of the cylinder, they said they could put a sleave in it but they were worried it would leak, its pretty bad the hole goes pretty much from the top to the bottom of the cylinder and the rest of if is scared up pretty bad.

On a the bright side a found another engine and I'm in the process or putting it in the, place I bought it from had 2 Luv trucks one with engine both diesel it was St. James Auto Salvage in St. James Missouri 800-264-3294

dewhite, welcome to the site and great job on buying the S10 diesel before it got crushed. In my opinion they shouldn't have even thought to crush it because it's a rare vehicle and I guarantee selling it to you they made more money than what they would have got for the scrap metal. I don't think I've ever heard of a piston going through the block on one of these engines until you said it. Even with that damage it was worth buying the truck because the engines aren't very hard to come buy. Harder then the gas powerplants yes, but still they aren't so rare to the point you can't find them. Glad to hear you got an engine and hope to see you get the truck going to drive down the road for many miles.

Salvy

Well thank you much for welcoming me here, I'm glad I got ahold of the thing too before they crushed it I had been looking trying to find one for quite some time and I only paid 100 bucks for the remains of the truck (the cab, frame, engine, transmission, and core support) so cant complain there.
The place in Missouri said that they were planning on crushing what was left of the one I got the engine out of so if any one wants any parts you may want to give them a call it was an 82 Luv the frame was rusted in half they said and I I'm not sure what other parts were left on it but hate to see any hard to find truck like that get smashed
