my wife wanted me to get rid of the bike since i got my sv650. and one of my friends had the pistol he wanted to get rid of. he had about as much in the gun as i did in the bike so i said what the hell.

i look at it this way, i may have lost a bike but i gained a gun and a new riding buddy

Speaking of guns...

I was at a gunshow on saturday and picked up two Chinese SKS Carbine 7.62 x 39mm! Plus a surplus box of 1100 rounds. Complete with bayonets! The guy who was selling them at them listed at 159.95 (Cdn), but I jewed him down to $120...then took two! Plus $ .15 a round for the ammo.

There ain't gonna be many nasty rodents on my poperty much longer!

(Oh and they are the spear type bayonets, he sold out of the blade types the week before... )

BTW, nice trade!

Ok heres the stupid part about Canada's gun laws.

About 7 years ago they implemented a mandatory gun registry system. So this means that every non-restricted gun had to be registered by 3 years time. This caused a huge uproar, especially in Western Canada where the population is mostly old farmers who keep a .22 to shoot pigeons and gophers.

Also, this gun law only deals with non-restricted...not restricted or handguns.....how does that make any sense? "Lets register all the hunters and farmers guns, that will cut down on crime" Well, it didn't work. Crime with guns is still at an all time high, and they spent almost 2 billion dollars to make the registry work.

So, IMO, they need to implement handgun laws and restricted firearms laws. Those are the guns that kill people, not everyday peoples guns. Even then, that won't work 100%, its not like criminals are going to go and voluntarily register their murder weapon...

Beside the point, these SKS's are only 5 round clips and semi-auto, so they are not prohibited. But needless to say a file and some machine work they can be full auto....

I got a genuine Colt AR-15 A2 Sporter. collapsable stock, bayonet clip, flash supressor. the LAST of the REAL assault rifles... BEFORE the ban. 100% legal!!! Also stockpiled about twenty five 30 and 40 round mags and a couple 100 round drums.
may go pick me up a select fire for it.... somebody recently offered me a 40mm "flare launcher" that mounts on the bottom of it but i had to pass on that. I dont need that sh!t.

anyway all you gun freaks really ought to check out FN Firearms 57 ("the five seven") check it out and tell me what you think.... one of my co-workers just bought one. Its a BFA piece.
