last night i came home and had to bury my dog. the night before he wasnt feeling good but i just figured it was b/c it was cold out. i found him laying beside his box in his favorite place like he had just layed down and went to sleep. i had him for about 8 years and i bawled my fuckin eyes out last night. i buried him w/ all his toys and that was hard gathering them up.
he was such a good dog, a little hateful and mistrustful sometimes but a very good doggy.

i gotta go, tearing up again and i gotta weld him up a nice plaque for his grave.

It'll be alright man, i had a little basset hound once we had to get rid of because we were in some hard times. He was a cool little dog, loud, but cool. We gave him away to two stupid blondes that smoked like crazy for $20, yeah, life sucks.

It can be very hard, Don't let anyone give you shit about "it is just a dog"
I have been their too. Hope this doesn't make you feel bad.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run
and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed
are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;
they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group,
flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion,
never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress
the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet,
so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

I am VERY VERY sorry for your loss. I love my dog like she is my daughter. A couple of months ago she had a lump in her stomach area. I took her to a vet and was told she had a tumer and would live for a week or so. I took her in for a second opinion and long story short they pulled a 9 1/2 pound tumer attatched to her spleen. I paid $4700 to get it done. So there again don't let people say "it's just a dog", that is bullshit it's family. Time will heal your pain.

I feel your pain man. I lost my favorite dog so some stupid BS, long before it was her time to go. Haven't had another dog since.

Was his name inspired by "Grogg likes beer"?

Sorry for your loss. I had to have a life/death discusion with my 3 & 6 year old sons because they just lost their guinny pig. We have two Samoeyeds that are getting up in their years and they were asking about them dying. That was a rough day. No animal is just a pet, they are family just like a person.

shit man.. i feel for ya bro! hang in there, i like many others have been there. ... Time...

i grew up with my pup AJ (anthony Jr.) :D .. and all was well, then one day i came home and noticed him acting like he had to pee, and when he tried it was a no go... so we took him in and turns out he had prostate cancer.. put him down early the next morning.. the vet said that it was REALLY rare for a nuetered dog to get that type of cancer... oh man did i think life was over, and i would never want another dog

but about a year later, we got another black lab and he is the exact opposite as AJ, and i love the lil guy :D

but again, i feel for ya.. and just like others have said, dont let the fuckers say that it was just a dog, and at least it wasnt your real family or something like that.. cause dogs man, they are family

Sorry for ya Larp, I also know how you feel, I lost mine early last year after 12 wonderful years. To me, they are harder losing than a human relationship, if people could love unconditionaly like animals do, this world would be a much better place. Always remember the good times with him. It takes a long time to get over it, I hate to say. It has been a year and 3/4 and people keep telling me I need another one but I still am not over her and dont know if I will anytime soon. Once again, sorry to hear that Larp.

I feel bad for you larp - I lost a good ole' dog a few years back and I didn't think I would ever get over it.

Recently...my G/F just got me a new dog...it took me weeks to even try to bond with him - but he's turning out to be a good little buddy.

I personally think it may be harder than losing a family member - 'cause there just isn't any comparison to the bond between a man and his dog.

Hang in there bro.

im also working up the courage to tear down his fence. im just too used to seeing him in it when im in the backyard.

his name was inspired by that Ben  little fucker LOVED bud light when he was a pup.

LUVNIT...thanks but no thanks, could see how that would go over with the 4 cats 8O
