We had a crazy idea for a demolition derby car (I, as well as my family, are much different from the norm... We purposly do things differently)

Anyways.. The idea was to have a "Back to the Future Delorean" themed car...

Needless to say, it was voted best in show(there was no such award prior) it stuck out like a sore thumb, and was the crowd favorite.... It got disabled during the first red flag of the main even due to a fuel pump wire being pinched....

There are too many pics to post here, but a small collection of photos including the before, after the enduro race and then the aftermath can be found at... http://photobucket.com/albums/a257/drathbun1959/?

Just a bit of prior info: The car used was an 89 cutlass ciera with the 3300 v6... It only had 65,000 miles on it and ran incredibly strong... The previous owner was an older gentleman who had kept it in his garage since the day he bought it new... A friend of mine bought it, but unfortunately he got rear-ended... No visible damage to the car at all... but the insurance company totaled it saying that the sub-frame was bent... We tried parting it out but no biters... so this is how we decided to send it to the great junkyard in the sky....

Thanks,
~Aaron

that is awesome...i have never been to a destrustion derby. And i like those loover looking things on the back, remind me of back to the future, my favorite trilogy!!!

brief history lesson while we are on the subject, i hope you don't mind...........i was born in Sonora, california. that is very near where the back to the future movies were filmed..well at least the 3rd western one. And a guy my dad worked with at a welding shop built the original loover thingys in for the DeLorean on the films.......kinda cool!!

i am out

That is awsome! The Back To The Future theme is great. My wifes a big fan of those movies. She can recite them word for word. I call her a "backy", you know, kinda like a "trecky" I had a demo car that never made it to the derby. We trashed it doing some off roading down my buddies uncles farm lanes through his corn feilds. It was a 66 Olds 4 door. We named it Booger because it was green.
