UH-OH!
i noticed a little oil mist on the oil case
i was told since the truck was never driven much that the gaskets were probally going to need replaced.
oh great i'm thinking,
one hassel comming right up.
i was wiping the oil of the case and the oil cap wiggled,
heres the problem i thought
yep!
so i gently wiggled it loose
afraid the oil monster might leap at me
(ok so im a scardy cat)
how the hell a CLEAN LOOKING pizza shape snip is out of it i dont know
that is a thick rubber plug. it looked like a 1/4" wide by 1/2" long pizza slice chunk is gone.
:!: cool its not the gaskets.
whew!
UH-OH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wheres the piece at?????????????????????????????
i wonder if its inside
oh-no
what will it do if its floating around in there?
but seriously it looks to clean of a "CUT" to have happend on its own!
unless its supposed to be missing.
but i dont think so because of the oil i was wiping up.
does this sound like shop sabbatoge??????????????
my dad always had service shops work on it
shops such as ac delco/ unical 76/ cheveron/ engine room.
the rubber didnt look rhat deteriotated.
so help what do i do?
and surely my dads last oil change recently would have known. right

the oil filler cap on my luv was super tight fit, then one day I'm in a hurry to close it up to leave and I got a little of the caught outside the opening and pushed anyway...long story but it resulted in a cut that was like one side of a pizza slice,I cut the other side to prevent the possible piece in the valve cover.something similar couldve happened to yours.a piece floating in there probably wouldnt ruin anything .does it still run ok? the valve cover always seems to get mystery oil on it anyways

she purrs and sounds clean and doesn't shake or really skip a beat at an idle,
i press the gas once, clutch and brake and turn key starts right up and hums perfect. even at a cold start.
i currently have to diconnect the battery when i turn it off because i have an alternator on the brink.
i am fixing that on the beginning of next month. (lack of funds at the moment)
i am going to be putting new belts on then too
and now a oil plug
i will be changing the oil most likely too
i noticed the brake fluid caps look nasty and rust starting
and globby gunk crap between the rubber lid and the metal plate in the lid
i hope i am able to locate the lids to replace
i may have to buy new cups and use the lids (keeping the cups as spares i guess) i want to flush the brake lines (hopefully ots kinda easy- lol)
might as well put new filters (oil/air) aye yi yie
?+?+?+??+?+= :smt064
and i was hoping to get blueball truck nutz (its a blue truck) door seals and a cheap cd player and the clutch/brake anti-theft lock
other than that
but i see it as its a little stock engine, ONLY so much to fix
its just a little 4 banger with (i'm now celebrating) 60040.3 miles on the original izuzu engine
so this i see as maintainance
rather than a major repair
oh and i want new spark plugs
guess i'm a typical female
i want it all

Ok if it's just a new oil plug you need to swap here's an idea on how to save some oil. You and a friend (not the toy kind) and a vacuum cleaner (forgot the wrench, but you could just use your teeth...). Now take your sliced up oil cap off and stick the tube attachment on the vacuum (unless you have a handy shop-vac) and stick it over the hole, now after you get your plug out with your tee...Wrench, just as you pull it out tell your bud to turn on the vacuum on, this'll make a nice little slurpin' noise at the drain plug so no oil come out  , now stick your new plug in, turn off the vac. and then tighten the plug. And Always change your oil filter with every oil change as well, or your 60k mile motor will feel like a 100k+ motor very soon.
