I'm going to be putting in a 305 or 350 not sure yet. i have a 305 but i might be able to get ahold of a brand new 350 plus a cracked block for free but i'm going to turn it into a rock crawler/tree rubber/not so much mud bogger rig. i'll paint it all nice and perty and all the other fun stuff. I plan on doing EVERYTHING myself minus cage work as far as bending because i dont have a bender but i plan on welding it all in myself along with all the wiring. So this will be quite an adventure. I had my dad help me a little on my first truck, as far as a set of hands and a finger to point kinda stuff goes. but this one is going to be all me hopefully lol. pics will be soon once i get off my lazy butt to put them on the computer.

man, i wish i could do that. but, it already has the SAS done on it , so it has one of those HUGE dana 30's up front with 4.10 gears instead. EXTREME!!!! lol. but i plan on backing the 350 or 305 with a 700r4 and maybe a divorced dana 20 (already in the truck when i got it) and use the original driveshafts or a married np205 and custom driveshafts. so, we'll have to see what i feel like when i get to that. last night i tore the steering wheel and some of the dash apart. so it's getting closer to wiring time.

700r4= ewww. you should put a 5 speed manual tranny from a fullsize chevy in it. thy come in 4x4. i think theyre called a NV3500.

I was a little unsure of using the 700r4 in it at first but i put a shift kit in it and it holds back on a hill just as good as a stick, usually the ground underneath the tires will be rolling faster than the tires. and it has the lowest first gear ratio of any chevy auto out there
