Well, the knock by itself is enough to scare the crap out of me, but on top of that:
I think the carb I got off ebay way back when was crappy, thought so all along, but didn't want to admit it. Cause the adjustment screw is tightened as tight as I can get it and it still puffs out black smoke when you rev it up. I was gonna try and find a donor carb to get some parts off of, but I could never find one cheaper than the one I got, small wonder.
The last time I really drove it was last winter when I got a new back glass and finally had it sealed off from the elements. I took it to the movies with my wife and it ran great for about 30 minutes, but after that I had to feather it to keep it from stalling out.
While I was looking for the cause of that problem I found out that the oil pressure sensor and the coolant temp sensor have never been actually attached to the motor and I can't get 'em to work now. God knows what problems that's caused.
I've never been able to fix my exhaust leak at the manifold. I've replace the flange gasket three times to try and everytime all it does is get worse. Sounds so bad I'm embarrassed to be seen in it now.
Ohh, almost forgot, when I'm driving at night and I hit the blinkers my headlights go out, sometimes they come back on, sometimes they don't. . .God only knows what's causing that.
It's just been too much for me to conquer, I moved just a little while ago and I'm still not making enough money to make ends meet, much less aggrivate the wife by putting money in the truck so she's just kinda sat there for a while. I was thinking of selling to to my boss who owns an outdoor gun range to use to relocate the trap machines every week and any other stuff they need. They've got an old 2wd toyota that's always getting stuck.
