i bought a 74 datsun 520 pickup for $30 the other day. my friend didnt want it anymore and he was just going to take it to the crusher. the little four banger took a dump too. thats the reason he got rid of it. but ive got it now and im putting a buick 4.1 v6 in it with a turbo 350 trans. just got done re-doing the brake today so it should stop like a enzo ferrari. :smt046 the funny thing is that it has four wheel drum brakes. eh, brakes is brakes. ill have some pictures up soon.

does anyone know where to get coil over shocks for the front suspension on the datsun. i want to take the torsion bars out for more engine clearance. i need coilovers that have the stud and nut on the top and the bushing and thru bolt in the bottom. oh and i need them kinda short too. gotta have it low!

Try hosting your photos on photobucket. It looks like your host doesn't let you link to your photos for very long.

I like black wheels, but just because they don't show brake dust that well.

What is the name of the guy you bought the truck from? I have a friend who has a 1974 520 datsun 2wd, and the engine just died like 3 weeks ago.

well i went to the junkyard today and got a bunch of parts for the truck. i got a shifter, throttle cable, a better steeringwheel w/ adapter, a chunk of a th350 drivline to graft to the datsun driveline, and an altenator. i got the altenator and throttle cable mounted up. to mount the shifter i need to put te floor in the truck back together, but it will work. i got the shifter out of a chevette. its kinda cool cuz its a rod shifter. not a cable. ok

that look like a fun little ride... and a simple vehicle to work on. It's nice not to have to deal with all that crap on newer cars.... anyway... that looks like a great cruiser...

i should be getting soem different rins and tire for the beast some time soon. the rims are gonna be sooo cool. theyre the same style but.... with Five spokes intead of six. the rims come with some 185/60/14 tires too, so itll be a lil bit lower.
