What kind of car was called a STOVE BOLT??
What are ARDEN heads for??
What were WAYNE heads used on??

ARDEN heads are over head valve heads for a flathead motors. oh and im 17

wayne heads were used on inline 6's from chevy and gmc in the fifties probably a not too much in the 60's when the small block took over.

NOT BAD AT ALL
38 & 39 chev 2dr sedans were called STOVE BOLTS
Arden heads truned a flathead into a mini Hemi
Wayne heads were 12 port ( what a sound they made)
you guys arnt old, I wish that I was 30 again Im 65 yrs young

I thought stovebolts were the inline 6 engines, I didnt know that they had a car that was called that, I guess I's stupid :lol:

Shane, your not stupid (your not from that time period)

my first hot rod was a 39 chev 2dr (paid $5 dollars for it) head was milled .100
had three crab and duel pipes, was fast back then (1953)

Geohum, dude your from grants pass my parents live in cave Junction, Small world.
Anyways, Langdon came out with the stovebolt 6 engine in the late 1930's. They called it the "Chevy stovebolt 6". The reason they did that is because chevy 216 used the same bolts to attach sheet metal parts as Detroit was using to bolt together there wood-burning stoves in those days. Thats why I thought that it was that van type truck thingy. It is called "The stovebolt speedwagon", with a stovebolt 6 in it.

My buddy has a 55 Chevy pick up and the lic. plate is Stove bolt.
I forget why but I think it because of the type of inline 6 engine.
