Had another person killed by a street race here. This time it was just up the road from my house. Two younger guys racing and one collided with a car at an intersection killing the lady in the in the car not involved with the race. Actualy happened a while back but an accident involving some drunk idiot a couple days ago reminded me. A person died in that accident also. And you probably already guessed it wasnt the drunk idiot that caused the accident that ended up dead. What blows about the street racing deal is that we have a track not even a half hour away and two others about an hour or two away and they still gotta race on the street.

The message is good on both accounts. We don't see a lot of street racing incidents around here, but there was a fatality crash last weekend involving a drunk driver. He crossed the centerline in his 2002 Durango, sideswiped a 2000 LeSabre, and plowed head on into a 2002 Corvette. The driver of the Corvette (on his way back from the coast enjoying a scenic drive in a car perfect for enjoying a drive anywhere) was killed. I feel for his family and they have my condolences, but I must admit I was struck by the vehicles destroyed in the crash. A Durango and a Vette taken all at once, and I bet the LeSabre wasn't too bad either.

The weekend before a guy tried to negotiate a 20MPH corner with a few too many drinks in him and missed. At least in that one he didn't involve anyone but himself, but he was pronouced dead before Lifeflight could arrive. No word on the vehicle in that one.

If people won't pay attention to the deaths, then at least maybe they could think about the vehicles they might destroy on their way home from the pub.

Man I hate to hear stuff like that. I especially hate it when children are involved!!! I know I have done my share of street racing, especially when I got my 1st v8 luv, but young, dumb and driving a rocket does some crazy stuff to a person.

I especially hate it when I hear that kids, animals, and LUV's are involved. Pisses me off that someone thinks they have more control than what god gave them.

I only wish we could have beat them before they died. That is horrible to say, but ya know, sometimes corporal punishment does fix a problem.

I am by all meens not a saint. I drove home from a bar once when I shouldnt have. But thats all it took for me. Never again. If me and the wife go out now I stay until the buzz wares off. And now a safety reminder for any parents out there. We (not my own)just lost a kid in a near by town because the parents didnt have her in a safety seat or belt. 3 years old and crushed under the car when she was thrown out of it. R.I.P. angel.
