I wouldnt be too worried about basic.. my buddy went into the Air Force and said the hardest thing was trying not to laugh at the TI's ( Training instructor for those non military). I didn't have the same problem in the army. I think you chose the branch well though, seems like the AF takes better care of their people than the Army, at least that was my experience. Good luck,

dennis

Aircraft Structural Maintenance was my primary job for 16 years. Then I was forced to cross train into INTEL due to a shortage of Tech Sgt's there. I finally got out of taht and back into Structures only to piss off the shop chief since I have a habit of backing my troops 100% when they are in the right. This led to him getting his ass chewed up one side and down the other by our commander for something he did and was trying to hold my shift accountable. Well, he ARRAIGNED for me to be transferred to another shop where I am now stuck behind a desk doing Security Manager duties! Anyway, it is a great carrer field and you will learn a lot.

Well good luck flyboy!! I can say that since I was an Army flyboy for 5 yrs. Well I am glad that you got you something that will be very marketable when you decide to get out of the military, I see so many guys who badmouth the military, but in all honesty it is what you make of it, much like any other job 'cept you get great benefits from it!
Myself I have two very marketable jobs when I retire form the military I can work on helicopters or planes..... or I can stay in the medical field and be a surgical tech in open hearts, and make great money with either career option. Although I really miss flying alot I do enjoy this job very much.
Just make sure that you use all your educational options with them, you cannot beat the military educational opportunities that you will have. Believe me! Mine is 100% paid tuition and 100% paid books and a free laptop computer and printer and all I have to do is complete 12 semester hours in two years!! :P I figure what the hell! lol Well I know I am rambling but I figured I'd just toss in my 50 cents cause two pennies aint covering it!
Later

Good luck MEPR. Don't worry too much it'll be over before you know it. From what I've heard from my neighbor who is Air Force it's not that bad. Besides if it's anything like the ARMY you wont remember your technical training because of all the drinking. :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking:
