My wife said her 'suburban was making a funny noise"... I checked it out some last night, heard a squeak that sounded like a u joint. Got under it today and found a trashed trans mount, and the original u joints still in place. No biggie, as I had both in house from my recent tow pig dismantle. Got those in, and jacked up the front and checked all. Sweet! no problems there. Went to the rear, bad place in left rear tire. Went to the stash and got the factory wheel/new tire combo off said dismantled tow pig, and put it on. Went to passenger side, and oh sh!t...



These were laying inside the drum...

Clip came off the bottom one and wreaked havoc, it is supposed to look like the top one...

The bend in the old one is a result of this...

A hammer and dolly, a little weld and a die grinder, and it looked like this...

I first thought the head gasket was blown between #1 and #4...
