The language is a bit broad. Unless they get more specific, there is potential for it to be interpreted so it's illegal to type profanity.

Here is a good example of a law that had been intended to protect the public, but the verbiage was too broad. Do you think the lawmakers had intended for this 6 year old boy to be labelled a sex offender for the rest of his life?

"When the boy's lawyer tried to have the charge dismissed, [District Attorney Lisa] Riniker replied: 'The legislature could have put an age restriction in the statute if it wanted to. The legislature did no such thing.'"

The intentions are noble, but it's far too broad.
