Was at the track last weekend and the very first pass down the track being the very first pair. Just pass the 1000' mark the truck nosed over. Got home that night and pulled the engine out. Got the heads and oil pan off to get a closer look at the damage. The crankshaft broke taking out just about everything else. One thing I don't have a picture of yet is the bell housing that is cracked!! The part that really bummed me out is that in a couple weeks I was suppose to go to Brainerd, MN to race at the ET Finals. But I am still going to go and help out a friend with his Pro Bike and drink alot of beer!!!!

Ouch... And that was your first sign, they generally get quicker just before they go...

That sucks. Is that the true meaning of...."It let loose"? I'm sure you will be back faster than before.

The quick times were last spring right after I had it freshened up. It was running about the normal 9.90s. The last time at the track 3 weeks prior, it ran 9.928 two passes in a row!!!

That is my plan, to run quicker!!! I would like to run mid 9's maybe even low 9's!!! Maybe even put a throttle stop on it and run Super Gas!! I bet I would be the only Luv in that class!!!!

have you added all the runs up since you started using that block.

just wondering as to how long it lasted with insane power out put.

is it a 454 or 350 block?
i only see two bolt mains but that could be do to the RED ZONE killing, and things are truly missing

It is a 454 2 bolt main. Probably only 300-400 runs since I got the block. But know sure how many runs were on the crank??? But the crank was in the last engine when one of the aluminum rods let go!!! So it has been around a while!!!!

well say you drive .65 miles round trip every run, and did say 400 runs.

that's like 260 miles....

0.80 would be 320

1.10 is 440

from what i know and thats not much, drag engines that go near 500 miles lived a LONG TIME :?:
