Prepping for a trip to Albequerque, NM and have a question for those of you living in Texas. Anyone know what the speed limit is on I20 and Hwy 287 for a car pulling a trailer? Trying to squeeze the trip in during regular time off from Wally World!

Didn't think of that. If time permits, (and time of day), I just might do that. Hey, you ain't one of them aliens are ya? Just in case, I'll put my aluminum foil hat on if I drop by! Should blend right in!!!
I asked about the speed limit because years ago when I drove through Texas on I10, I thought I saw a 55 mph limit for cars with trailers which would slow me down big time....

far as i know i'm not alien, but bein from alaska and now living in the desert it kinda feels that way!!!
did you mean hwy 285 instead of 287 in your first post? if so as far as i know the speed limit varies between 60 to 70 mph all the way from texas to abq as for i 20 i have only driven that a few times and that was a while ago so i dont really remember. im thinkin 65 mph is a fair speed. i think most hwy in tx are 75 mph speed limit.

when are you planning this little venture? if the timing is right i may be on vacation and dr_frankenstein56 said he may stop by. maybe have a little impromtu bbq or something

Oh great! I get to stop by and visit an alien and someone made up from left over body parts! 8O Sounds like you two need to open up a side show!
I am planning to leave on the 28th to pick up my Ural motorcycle in Albuquerqe. Resting, traffic, gas stops, etc, will have to be factored in as Wally World will only let me have only so much time off even though it's not paid time. Where would be a good place to meet so I can try fitting a visit in?

70 mph is the posted speed limit on I20 and 287. Not sure if its different for pulling a trailor. I have never had a problem and I have pulled a car all over Texas and run the cruise at 73-74 with no problems. Just have your seatbelt buckled 8) . Actually the traffic is usually moving faster the 70 on I20....

wow I didnt even realize that they made sidecar bikes anymore, that is cool!

i guess the best place to meet would be.........Wal-mart!

actually wal-hell is right down the street and there is a chili's in the parking lot and its right off 285 so you cant miss it.

so if your leaving the 28th then you should be here the 29th or the 30th depending on how hard you are going to drive. ill send you my cell number so you can gimme a hollar when you get there

Got your cell number. We are now trying for Nov. 4th through 7th. Heaven forbid if we mess up Wally World's work schedule!

70 during the day and 65 at night..but the best thing is not many black and whites doesnt run that area (cause its not very far from where i live) much at night so u should be safe if ya open it up at night.

They have to pay for those radar guns somehow! Since they use our tax dollars to buy those things, can we tell them to quit buying them? :D

I agree with you TILTED. But like anywhere/anything else, it's the few a-holes that give them ALL a bad name. The one that pulled me over for going 'suspiciously slow' waves to me every time he sees me and has a big smile on his face.
