I have a 76 El Camino wich is the ugliest year they ever made but I still like it.

Is the Ute RWD or FWD or even AWD?

But the 76 had big doors. I had a 77 SS version, nothing special but it was nice and big inside. Heavy Doors!!!!

I hope they bring it here as a El Camino. Hot Rod did a Review of one ten years ago.... It was kick ass.
Put the LS7 in it... Whoopee

Closest thing to a mini truck we will see. It will carry a fair amount with the factory air shocks.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

they sell something similar down in Mexico.

2010 Chevy Tornado, via Chevrolet Mexico

http://www.chevrolet.com.mx/content_dat ... iseno.html

But I bet you can't import them to CA because of emissions.

the V8 they use here is the 6 litre, or if you buy one through HSV 6.2.

the V6 comes with either the 3.0 or the 3.6 dependon model.

I don't know if they will bring in the engine too. It will have to pass EPA... The older ones used a 350 and 454 engine if IIRC

Looks like those are a a LS2 and a LS3.. Nothing to sneeze at. It should be easy to Americanize the engines for the EPA

im pretty sure our engines are less powerfull than the ones you get over there, the emmisions laws here i would think would be about on par with the california ones

Ls2
It produces 400 bhp (300 kW)@6000rpm and 400 lb·ft (542 N·m)@4400rpm The LS2s in the E-series HSVs are modified in Australia to produce 412 bhp (307 kW) and 412 lb·ft (559 N·m)

Ls3
It produces 430 bhp (320 kW)@5900rpm and 424 lb·ft (575 N·m)@4600rpm
The LS3 received modifications for its application to HSV's models, producing 425 bhp (317 kW).
Power and torque was restricted to protect the drivetrain currently used in the E-Series sedans.

Ls7
After an extensive engineering process over several years, Holden Special Vehicles fitted the LS7 to a special edition model, the W427. The HSV-tuned engine produces 375kW (503hp) and 640 N·m (470 lb·ft), making it the most powerful car ever built in Australia. The W427 was unveiled at the Melbourne International Motor Show on 29 February, 2008[6] and went on sale in August 2008.

Cool!!!

Ya know, California really does bite. I'm getting out of this state as soon as I can.

Definitely wouldn't mind having a Ute... sharp looking vehicle. But that Mexican Chevy looks like a Minivan with a truck stuck to the back end of it.

I'll bet you can't hear or just barely hear the whine but the guy next to you will and wish he hadn't challenged you

And by all means lets get that little El Camino hear in the states as i would trade all my cars and trucks in for it.The pain in the butt part is if that is an LS3 it would be a piece of cake to make emissions legal hear or at least in 49 states.
