I got to thinking about the one car that i have the most regret for selling or getting rid of, and i want to post the question to you guys.

I REALLY miss my 71 Bel-Air. An Impala, it was not. But with the power the 400 was putting out, and the roominess and comfort it provided, i have to say it was definitely a regretful sale. The only reason it was sold, was because i had no money or time to work on it, and was being pressured by my mom to do something with it. I guess in the end, the money went to a good cause. I used it to start a photography business.

This is what it looked like when i inherited it from my grandfather. He paid 400 bucks for it in 1980.

When i left california, i had to leave it behind at my brother's house. unfortunately, he found the keys and used it even though i told him not to drive it. This is what it looked like when once i drove it up here to Utah.

He had wrecked it, left the doors open and someone took the radio, smoked in it, left the windows down and someone tried to steal it. in the process they wrecked the ignition and i had to install the steering column from a monte carlo parts car my brother owned, the wiring was shot to hell and the piston rings were worn from him driving it with little to no oil.

Still, after 26 years of it being in our family's possesion, it never let us down. Between me and my 3 siblings, we must have put close to 500,000 miles on it, rebuild the cylinder heads twice, rebuilt the trans onece, installed an impala diff, 3 radiators and gone through 6 water pumps.

AND it made the trip up here to utah with no problems.

SO, what's YOUR most regretful sale? Backstory is a plus!

I regret selling the first car I ever owned which was a '69 Olds Cutlass Supreme with a 350 rocket in it. My dad bought it new in '69 and when I turned 16 he gave it to me. Being young and dumb and full of of cum, I sold it a few years later. Many years later I found one almost identical to it sitting in an old ladys back yard. I bought it, and what happened? Yep, sold it a few years later. Now that I'm a lot older and wiser, I realize what I had! In '69, They made very few Cutlass Supremes and even fewer with the 350 rocket in them. Now, one in decent shape is waaaay more than I can afford. As they say hindsight is always 20/20! Maybe one day.....

yeah, in hindsight i probably could have just put it in storage for a few months, but it would have taken me more than a year to really get what i wanted done right.

I was hoping to drop in a 350 instead and upgrade to a 700r4 trans instead of the stock 350 3 spd.
i was on the verge of ordering a painless wiring kit when i got the call that someone wanted the car....
