I heard about the car from a friend and went to take a look at it. Its a 71 240z that hasnt been cut up at all. The Body was alright no big rust or anything just a typical california car. NEways the guy i was buying if from was selling it for 1500 because he couldnt get it to start. He had bought it for 2000 and it was in a pile. He did what he could in puting in together But couldnt get it started. When i showed up i noticed that the top of the distributor cap had a big crack on it so i figured that was probably what the problem was. I asked him if he wanted me to start it or tow it away and he kind of laughed at me and said go ahead and start it. I went and picked up a cap and lit it off. the guy was pissed, but i already had the title and had paid him so.

I scored pretty good, the car already has the 300zx rear end and has a griffin alluminum radiator. The motor is a 350 crate motor with a 292 cam. It has a turbo 350 with the hardest damn shift kit i have ever felt it was so hard when i drove it away i thought i had broke somthing. It also has a full set of malory gauges. I cant wait to do some work to it so i can drive it some. Oh yeah someone already bought the kit from PAW and put the mounts in and the headers are sitting in the back of it.

Good for you dude!! :D I have to say that I really do like the old Datsun Z's My cousin personally owns three of then he has a 240 a 260 and a 280. I have to say though I saw one when I was stationed in Hawaii that had a 350 in it and I must admit just to here it growl with that 350 in it makes them sound and look even meaner!  I would like to have one myself! But then again I think I am one of those guys who thinks everything should have a V-8

COOOL!! i had a 240 with a 350/350 in it and i sold it last year for only 1200 because the motor was tired. but even with massive blowby it would go out to the street races in Miramar and Kearny and absolutely OWN all of the Hondas out there. The only car it lost to was an M3 on nitrous. do yourself a favor and immediately weld some subframe connectors in it if it doesnt already have them. The stock 350 in my Z twisted the car up real good so the doors, hood and hatch wouldnt close right.

I had a 240z with a wicked 327 in it, the tires would spin from here till hell froze over. It was a little scary but fun at the same time.

I just bought another one a few weeks ago, I may put wheel tubs in it.

There are a bunch of web car sites for them check out: hybridZ.org
