Wow, but somehow I'm not surprised anymore when I read things like this. I shop as much as I can at the locally owned Mom and Pop hardware stores...I'll be making it a bigger priority now.

It was a slow news night... Blackout night, they don't have some thing real to complain. Where my wife works at Texas A&M University, they have maroon-out day, they are Maroon and White school colors... Same thing, nothing racial unless maroon has become a race. Dumb a$$es.

Even the Nebraska fans acknowledged after the game that the intensity of the Maroon Out spirit made a difference in the game leading to A&M's 28-21 victory. As The Daily Nebraskan expressed it on October 12, 1998:

"A game that was dubbed a 'maroon-out' for Texas A&M fans proved to be a lights out for Nebraska. The fans dressed themselves in maroon T-shirts in an attempt to wash out the red and white that opponents have gotten used to. It worked."
