Hmmm, my 84 blazer's speedometer did that also, then it started spinning like a propeller after a while. Real hard to tell how fast you were going! 8O I noticed a few of us LUV owners have had 2wd S10 blazers also.

The local speed show was visited by me earlier this week. I ended up trading the 275 drag radials for some goodies straight across, I got a plug wire loom kit, a new set of lugnuts for the dime, and a set of Hankook 295 50 15's...

I have acquired a 700r4 tranny out of an 89 tpi Camaro, picked up a lock up kit, a Fairbanks 2nd gear servo upgrade, and a cheapo stall convertor for it...

I have the 700r4 tranny now, just waiting on a little warmer weather for the install. The tranny was recently built, out of a 1989 tpi Camaro. Motor went bad, I helped a friend pull the motor, he gave me the tranny. In the pic, I just finished a few upgrades. I installed the correct (hopefully) speedo gears to make the speedometer read correctly. I also installed a new tv cable that would work in a carbed apllication, a Fairbanks servo upgrade ,a one wire solenoid lock up conversion, and a fresh filter. I also have a new dipstick and a new convertor. So much for a 'free' tranny...

OK, update time.I got the 700r in it finally. Amazingly, it works. I added a Corvette stock replacement convertor to it, and all I can say is, I LUV overdrive...I am not sure of the mileage gain, as the first thing I did after the install was break the speedo, but it is at 5 or 6 mpg gain, IMO. And I LUV being able to keep up with the traffic on the interstate now. A lot of local peeps doubted I was going to actually do as I said and daily drive it, but they should know me by now, lol. As an example,I drove it about 20 miles to the barber yesterday, went by a friends afterwards. He wanted to go get the t350 I pulled out, we drove 40 miles to get it, then went 50 miles from there to deliver it. He was amazed at how smooth it ran, and how well it rode being lowered, and with both of us and the tranny as such, it was fully loaded. He got a little warm and said mind if I roll down the window, I said hold up, and hit the AC switch...

well, I was out in the Pumpkin, hit a big azz dog, busted one of the projector headlights, bent the tube grille, bent the bumper, not sure about panels, and something poked a hole in the fuel tank, I IZ waiting on the patch to dry as we speak to see if it will leak, of course, I just filled it up..

Damn. Did you at least dent the dog, small horse, or whatever it was?

I saw at least 3 different directions of travel by various pieces of the mutt, about 110 lbs of the idiot, is my guesstimate...

Wow , you have really made progress by leaps and bounds . It is a lot of fun to have a street car . My search for a Luv has not been so good . Im seriously considering doing a first gen S10 for emissions reasons .

Well, I got it back together, need to just touch up the paint. I think I like the billet grille better than the old tube grille anyway...

OK, I see it has been a year on this one. Pretty much like in the pics, just a few small things here and there. I have been driving to heck out of it. I am coming to the conclusion though, that bump stops are a necessity, lol...
