As a spectator... I was hoping to take my truck. My wife was going to be using my tow vehicle, so a friend was going to haul the LUV for me. I was working last night and never got them on the phone. I came in and thrashed on it to finish up a few minor details when the phone rang. They had to attend a funeral, which is why I didn't get up with them last night. At least the truck is nearly finished...

This is an 1/8 mile track, so the times reflect that...

There was a LOT of stock suspension rides, including 3 S10's. There also was my old 78 'bu and about 30 Mustangs. The final came down to my old 'bu and the 'stang that has been winning most of the races. This car wouldn't fit the class at most tracks due to the sheet metal dash, wheelie bars, and being about 700 lbs under weight. Around here they race mostly by tire size. :D As an example, my old 'bu has a Procharger AND nitrous. He over powered the track and had to pedal, so the 'stang came around.

The 10.5 Outlaws didn't have enough to make a class so one of my friends ran an exibition race against the only Pro Mod to show. Both ran in the 4's

There were enough bikes to have a separate race just for them. I can truthfully state, those guys are CRAZY!

There was enough cash money grudge racing to make things interesting all around.

One of my friends showed up in his new car, a 65 Nova Outlaw car with an all aluminum 670, but an oil leak caused him to be waived off.

I have to work the next 4 Sundays, so I won't get to attend, but next Sunday they are scheduled to have an all S10 call out race, And LUVs are invited as well. There is a certain Red S10 that did the call out. Now I don't know how fast he is, but he called out A white S10 I know of. Both of these are stock suspension trucks. I do know the white one went a 4.90 tonight, and the red one said he had that covered... :esurprised

Houston has a large 10.5 following. Sounds like a great weekend of racing. You could always put a couple of us big southern boys in your truck to bring you up to weight....
CTs LUV and Hotrod80 run down in the Houston tracks.

I think I could do those times if I pushed my truck down the track.... You just need to move the decimal point more to the right. A lot more........ 8O

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

Racing will go into December down here. They run almost 11 months a year here.

4.90's you should have that covered , right ? I like nights like that where you kick back and watch everybody , not thrash on the truck and not see any racing . You should pull that blue truck out and make um sweat .

Oh, and me and CT are in the 6's . 4.90's is cookin'.

4.90's is more than I can do. I hope I can get back in the 5's. I hate to watch. I'm not a spectator, I'm a participant. Which is why I don't like Nascar, dirt tracking, autocross, drifting, pro football or golf... :D . I wandered from pit to pit most of the night lending a hand, which is pretty much what I do when I take the LUV. I usually get a few offers to drive, but I've pretty much stopped that as these guys are getting bigger motors than I think the chassis will hold... :esurprised
