Since becoming a member here, I've developed a growing respect for what's involved in straight line racing. Props to you for getting yourself, your rig and your pride right out there in the open.

Thanks guys. Straight line racing isn't as easy has it looks. I friend of mine races a dragster in Super Pro and he hasn't won a round except for one race at one of the first races when the other guy went red. He has lost most of the round by just thousandths!!! But most of the time it is fun and we have alot of great people that I race with.

I've raced my old totally stock 83 Chevy 1/2 ton before (doesn't really count) But near by here we have a Malibu Speed Zone. It has 3 or 4 tracks of different sized cars, a slick track, you know , family fun zone racing style.

Anyway, they have a drag track. SBC powered short dragsters on a track (no steering). You just hit the gas, push a button to shift the Powerglide and then it stops itself. Once, as I was taking off, I was pissed because I thought I red lighted. At the end I found out I had a .001 on the reaction time. I wasn't so pissed after all.
