I had a new experience tonight. I went up in a hot air balloon. Flew about 15 miles and was up for about an hour. It was very awesome ride. My mom and her cousin were going up for a ride and the guy who owns the balloon (who I know) ask if my 6 year old daughter and I would like to go up too. My daughter heard him and she got very excited, so I had to say sure. But the wife wasn't all the thrilled about the idea!!! If you had never been up you have to try it.

Never been in a balloon, but you can see why I love my airplane now. Nothing like getting away from the rat race and get up in the air.

My dad's boss, Chuck, went in one and was at work telling my dad about it. My dad at the time was an engineer for Chuck. And my dad is quite the funny man. He reminds me of Alan Alda in looks and sense of humor.
My dad started asking Chuck "So how do those things work? To go up higher you toss the sand bags (which are on a rope) over the side, and to go down you pull them back inside with you?"
Chuck just shook his head and walked away mumbling , " And I got this guy designing heaters for the space shuttle"???
