This guy has them!!!!

Who has the most Chevy convertibles?

Where have all the convertibles gone?

This is a private collection. He opens it to the public occasionally and he is somewhere in Iowa.

There is a 1939 coupe amidst all those ragtops as Chevrolet chose not to build a convertible that year.

Now you know.

Starts with a 1912 little motorcar, which was absorbed into Chevrolet in 1913, then a convertible for every year up to 1975 in the big cars, except for 71 (not found yet) and 1939 [no verts (convertibles) made] and 1923 (Huckster instead). Chevelle SS verts from 64 to 72, Camaro SS verts 67 to 69, and Vette verts 53 to 75, with a few coupes thrown in. Has 8 vettes to go, 6 more vettes from BJ arriving in a week or two: 53, 55, 56, 68, 71, 73, 74, 75 - need to be convertibles also and BB's a plus.

Now we know why convertibles are so rare, this guy has most of them.

Wow. The LeMay museum is up here in the NW (near Tacoma, WA). Harold LeMay (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harold_LeMay) ran a garbage collection company and had a love for old cars. He just bought what he liked. It's a very large and interesting collection. When he passed away several years ago, there was some question as to what would happen to the collection. I think his children are involved now, and it's been saved and well managed.

There are even some 'verts in there. :)

I would have thought Jay Leno and Reggie Jackson had a lot.... Not compared to this place.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

i'd be nice just to have enough money to be able to collect those.
Ahh, well at least someone does and is putting it to saving some of automotive history.
That's a whole lot more than some do...

That's what I like about Jay Leno... I don't watch him, but I might if it wasn't past my bed time

It's allways nice to see a collection like that. If I had the money for a collection I would be like Jay Leno and drive them everyday. He is a great guy to talk to about classic cars and I have noticed when I see him around he allways has grease under his nails. You can usually find him every Sunday at the Rock Store in the hills of Malibu.
